With Newcastle beating Spurs so heavily, it mathematically means they can't finish lower than 14th in the Premier League this season.
Finishing above 15th for Newcastle means the condition to make Lewis Hall's loan move from Chelsea permanent has been met.
According to Ben Jacobs, Chelsea will receive £28m for the permanent transfer of Hall this summer.
Hall is a Newcastle fan although he was groomed at Chelsea before being sent on loan with a mandatory buy option on that condition. The 19-year-old played 12 senior games for the Blues before heading to Tyneside.
This season, Hall has featured 16 times for Newcastle scoring one goal against Man United.
