Marina Granovskaia benefitted from Abramovich secret payments investigated by Premier League

Marina Granovskaia has been named in the latest leak regarding the potentially unlawful Chelsea business activity during the Roman Abramovich era.

As per the Guardian, the former Blues chief executive was aware of some of the transactions made by the club as she was sent copies of transfer agreements.

Additionally, she appears to have personally 'benefitted' from the secret payments revealed in the leaks. On top of her salary, Abramovich's offshore companies gave her over £14m in various loans and payments, with at least £7.5m of the loans subsequently written off.

Chelsea are currently under investigation for unlawful payments over transfers of Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto'o and Willian.

The fact that Abramovich no longer owns Chelsea won't have any effect on the potential punishment if the Premier League decides to press charges against the Blues.

Granovskaia left the club in the summer of 2022.
