"Getting into the [FA Cup] final is already a big achievement," said Erik ten Hag at his pre-match press conference, quoted by The Independent.
"But we are here for trophies. We have an opportunity to win a trophy and that is good.
"We are not satisfied by being in the final, we want to win it and that is what we will go for and it’s our mentality."
However, the Manchester United boss is not fully convinced with his team's performances. They barely managed to beat Coventry City in the semi-final, advancing to the final on penalties.
"[If Man United win FA Cup] I would say it’s over-performing with all the problems we have had," Ten Hag continued.
"That is why we are successful. That’s why I am successful over 10 years as a manager, I always bring out the maximum of each squad."
Indeed, the Red Devils have been plagued by injury issues since the start of the season.
At no point has Ten hag had all his defenders available and that's led to woeful performances at the back.
