Man United have somehow benefitted from Borussia Dortmund’s progression into the Champions League semi-finals after defeating Atletico Madrid in the quarter-final.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have received a financial benefit from Jadon Sancho moving into the final four with his side.
That is because there was a clause inserted into his loan deal that assured Man United to get some financial reward if the Englishman helped them move into the final rounds of the competition.
Now, a source has told MEN that Man United will receive a ‘significant bonus’ due to Dortmund being able to oust the odds to move so far into the competition.
The Red Devils had initially received a €3.5m loan fee for Sancho, with the deal also having €4m in potential add-ons and this bonus is a part of that add-on itself.
Sancho, who couldn’t score or assist in the quarter-final, will now hope to help Dortmund beat PSG to reach the Champions League final – which can have even more financial rewards for Man United.
