Sir Jim meets with Amanda Stavely over Dan Ashworth talks - Newcastle's current demands named

Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently had a meeting with Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Stavely to solve the impasse around Dan Ashworth’s situation, claims the Times.

The Man United co-owner had face-to-face talks with the Magpies’ executive and tried resolving the matter to fast-track Ashworth’s possible switch to Old Trafford.

With that being said, Newcastle are not reported to have soften their stance on the sporting director and are still demanding £15m to release him immediately.

Ashworth is currently on gardening leave at the club which will not end before the end of 2025, meaning it could be tough for Man United to get him in time for this summer window.

Sir Jim had recently stated in an interview that he believes the Magpies’ valuation of Ashworth is ‘stupid’, especially considering they paid a fellow million pounds to rope him in from Brighton a few years ago.

For the time being, Man United are reportedly planning their summer window without Ashworth – despite Ratcliffe’s best attempts to rope him in immediately.
