Just two shot attempts in 2nd half: Liverpool out of Europa League with a whimper

The miracle did not happen: Liverpool are out of the Europa League after being eliminated by Atalanta in the quarter-final.

The Reds started brightly, scoring a penalty in the seventh minute. After that, however, they had no joy in front of the goal.

The second half was especially disappointing as they only had two goal attempts worth a total of 0.11 xG after the break.

Unfortunately, Liverpool appeared to simply lack the energy needed to turn this tie around. It remains to be seen of they can gather some for the Premier League games.
