Son Heung-min's teammate could face almost £600,000 lawsuit in damages from advertisers after fight with Spurs star

South Korean football star Lee Kang-in is reportedly facing a hefty £600,000 lawsuit from advertisers following a heated altercation with fellow player Son Heung-min during South Korea duty. The incident, which took place at a meal during the Asian Cup, resulted in Son sustaining a dislocated finger.

The PSG midfielder now finds himself in hot water as advertisers contemplate legal action, citing 'social controversy' caused by the altercation.

Notably, video games company Nexon, featuring Lee Kang-in in their ads, is grappling with public complaints, while telecommunications giant KT is considering terminating their deal with the player.

KT has ordered the removal of posters featuring Lee Kang-in nationwide, asserting it is tied to the conclusion of a purchase benefit promotion.

However, Allkpop suggests that the PSG star might be faced with a substantial penalty ranging from £2.9 million to £4.5 million due to contractual clauses common in advertising agreements.

These clauses typically stipulate that a penalty of 2 to 3 times the advertising fee must be paid in case of 'social controversy' caused by the endorser.

Despite issuing an apology for the clash with Son Heung-min, Lee Kang-in denies reports of physically assaulting his teammate.
