Europa League contenders? Bournemouth's £170m starting XI this season shown in lineup

Bournemouth are quietly having a fantastic transfer campaign after managing to stay up last season.

Alex Scott for £25m from Bristol City is the jewel of their transfer window but they've also spent around £70m on other signings, including right-back Max Aarons (£7m) and offensive midfielder Hamed Junior Traore (£20m).

In addition, they haven't lost their best players with the exception of Jefferson Lerma who went to Crystal Palace on a free.

They also brought in Andoni Iraola as head coach, one of the most talked-about coaches in Spain.

Iraola's tactics in possession revolve around utilising width thanks to overlapping fullbacks, so no surprise Bournemouth upgraded this position. Central midfield is just as important for Iraola and expect to see it crowded with one of the wingers dropping infield.

Out of possession, Bournemouth would be expected to fold into a compact unit and play direct football with long balls to Dominik Solanke who suits this role.

Here's how Bournemouth are expected to line up right now: Neto, Kerkez, Senesi, Zabarnyi, Aarons, Billing, Scott, Kluivert, Traore, Ouattara, Solanke.

Transfermarkt values this starting XI at £170 million although actual prices for some of these players would be much higher. Don't be surprised to see Alex Scott go for £60m+ to a top club in a year or two.

Neutral and Bournemouth fans have been hugely impressed with the club's business as they have reacted on social media.

@Edward_Braisby: "Adding Max Aarons to this as well for £7m Bournemouth have genuinely had one of the best transfer windows anywhere in Europe, they’re gonna be such a good team to watch this season under Iraola. Anyone who’s got them down to be in the relegation spots are wildly off it."

@SamBoltonMedia: "Afc Bournemouth doing the business this summer, they got rid of O’Neil and bought in Iraola for this exact reason, more quality signings and progressive football, lets hope it all clicks."

@CallumChadwick_: "So impressed with Bournemouth’s recruitment. Really excited to see them under Iraola. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them comfortably mid-table."

And where do you think Bournemouth will finish this season?
