17-year-old Pau Cubarsi shut down €100m-rated Victor Osimhen in Barca's big Champions League win against Napoli. It was something that 33-year-old Inigo Martinez couldn't do in the first leg.
Speaking after the game, Barca captain Sergi Roberto said: "Pau Cubarsí was the best player on the pitch. He never fails to surprise us.
"Champions League round of 16 and he plays like this. He's a once in a life time player. He's hardworking and comes from La Masia.
"Cubarsi is a player who should stay at Barcelona for the rest of his life," Roberto adds.
Xavi concurred with his captain during his press conference.
"Cubarsí is a very rational kid, a humble guy, calm, down to earth. He has an incredible future, we're probably looking at a centre-back who will play at the maximum level for years to come," Xavi said.
"My pulse does not go up when Cubarsí has the ball. That's the best compliment for him.
"Cubarsí does not get nervous, his ball delivery is efficient, he has pause to generate attacking plays. He blends well with interiors. It's a sight to see," Xavi adds.
Cubarsi was duly named Man of the Match after yet another stunning display in the Champions League of all stages.
