President Laporta 'refusing to change his mind' on Xavi

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is refusing to change his mind about sacking Xavi at the end of the season, Marca's Luis Rojo and Carmen Torres report.

Laporta claimed he was sick during the meeting with Xavi in the aftermath of Barca's 3-0 win against Rayo — the president only congratulated Xavi for finishing second and left the stadium without discussing his future.

Xavi says he is looking forward to next season, but Laporta doesn't believe Xavi is the right man to coach the team next term as he doesn't believe in his squad.

Multiple sources say a final decision on Xavi's future will be made at the end of the season.

The problem is, that Barca will have to prepare at least €20m in compensation for Xavi if they decide to sack him.
