Real Madrid have won the race to sign Alphonso Davies next summer, according to The Athletic.
The reliable source claims Real Madrid have already reached a verbal agreement to sign the talented left-back from Bayern in the summer. The final fee will be less than €50m.
Barcelona met the agent of Davies through their sporting director Deco last week, but it seems Real Madrid already won the heart of the player long before then.
Davies is in the final 18 months of his current contract at Bayern and has so far refused to sign an extension. If that remains the case by the summer, Bayern would be forced to offload him for a fee or lose him for free in less than a year.
Barcelona are said to be seeking a competitive left-back with Marcos Alonso set to leave the club in the summer. Thus, Alejandro Balde would be without any backup bar Joao Cancelo who simply can't play every game. It's why they have explored the option of Davies which has turned out to be a dead end.
