Jesse Lingard has been 'offered' to Barcelona as the Catalans are looking to add a midfielder to their ranks, Diario Sport claim. The 31-year-old is considered a low-cost option as Blaugrana are operating in difficult financial circumstances.
The Englishman can play as an attacking midfielder and a winger and is currently a free agent as he was released by Nottingham Forest last summer.
Lingard spent most of his career to date with Man United, making 232 appearances between 2014 and 2022. Hardly anything more than a bit-part player at Old Trafford, he left for Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2022 but failed to establish himself there, scoring just two goals in 20 appearances.
The forward is currently training in Dubai, waiting for offers. Barca are going to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup after the Barbastro game, and they could strike up a deal with Lingard while there.
