8 clubs Leo Messi could join after leaving Barca – with probability ratings

PSG

The real villain all along and quite possibly the only club that can afford Leo's wages in a wink.

On a personal level, it's a club where Messi has a lot of friends.

Probability rating - 45%

Barca

As per some sources, this could all be a ploy from Joan Laporta and Barca to put pressure on Javier Tebas and La Liga to register Messi. A bold move if so.

There are a few good reasons to believe in this theory. While Barca fans are anxious, they should not despair and give up.

Probability rating - 50%

Man City

Leo was linked to them A LOT last summer although Messi in Manchester (what an abomination) runs counter with Pep Guardiola's wishes.

City are about to spend £100m on Jack Grealish while Harry Kane – the one player they really need – remains on their radar. This means spending at least another £100m and FFP still exists (haha).

With this in mind, it seems unlikely City would renew the interest. However, given they have, in theory, funds to do it we give them some tangible probability.

Probability rating - 2%

Inter Miami

Leo was linked to David Beckham's team in the US but it was meant to happen in a few years. Right now, the project is very raw and Inter's results are dire.

Although Leo loves Miami, yep.

Probability rating - 2%

Juventus, Chelsea, United, Newells

None of these clubs has been properly linked to Leo as of late but throughout Leo's career that has been the case.

Juventus would be the neutral fan's wet dream although the Italian side are not quite well off financially.

Chelsea are busy building on their ultra-talented young squad while United have just signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

And as for Newell's Old Boys... that would probably be the only painless way for Barca fans if Leo chose them.

Probability rating - all combined 1%
