'Are you ready to follow 30 passes?': Mikel Arteta defends low possession vs Man City

Arsenal had just 28% possession of the ball in the 0-0 draw with Manchester City as both sides settled for a point each.

Despite enjoying greater possession, Man City failed to get on the target; even Erling Haaland was kept quiet.

Although the dropped points could prove costly in the Premier League title race, Mikel Arteta has insisted having low possession is not necessarily a bad thing against Man City.

Quoted by Arsenal media, the boss said after the game: "Clarity, before the game: are you ready to follow 30 passes?

"And after following the ball 30 passes, lose the ball and follow another 30 passes?

"Yes, then you can play Manchester City.

"It’s very important – if you are not ready to do that, you cannot play against them."
