De Ligt: 'I don't want to say Real Madrid always has the referees with them, but...'

Matthijs De Ligt slammed the referee after his Bayern side lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.

The Dutchman thought he levelled the score in the added time but the goal was cancelled for offside. There was no VAR review as De Ligt scored after the whistle was blown.

“I don't want to say that Real Madrid always has the referees with them but that made the difference today,” he said post-match, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“Real, when you think they are dead, have a last breath… that is why they have 14 Champions Leagues.

"We all know the rules. If it's not clear, let the game continue. What a shame."
