Alphonse Areola reportedly set to become first-choice goalkeeper at West Ham

According to Football Insider, West Ham United boss David Moyes is planning to make Alphonse Areola his first-choice goalkeeper really soon.

Areola, 28, joined the Irons on a loan-to-buy deal from PSG this summer. He is yet to register his first appearance for the London outfit but, if the report is to be believed, Moyes will give Areola this opportunity over the coming weeks.

If it happens, Areola will replace Lukasz Fabianski, who is a long-established number one man between the posts at West Ham.

Areola is a product of the PSG academy. Although he has registered 107 senior appearances and 53 clean sheets at PSG, the 28-year-old spent a lot of time on loan at such clubs as Fulham, Real Madrid, Villareal, Bastia and Lens.
