Man United urged to return to Atalanta for another striker

Erik ten Hag has made it clear that attacking reinforcement will be Man United's priority in the summer.

Rasmus Hojlund has made a decent start to life in England with 14 goals in all competitions since arriving from Atalanta.

But a lengthy injury layoff for Anthony Martial and Hojlund occasionally left the Red Devils without an out-and-out striker.

With Martial almost certain to leave, a host of names have been linked with the club. However, Football Transfers have recommended Gianluca Scamacca of Atalanta.

Scamacca has 14 goals in just 1,651 minutes of action in Serie A and the Europa League this season, averaging a goal every 118 minutes - a better rate than every United player this term.

The Red Devils were heavily linked with a move for Scamacca before he joined West Ham in 2022, but they were beaten to the punch by Moyes’ side.

However, the Italian managed just 11 Premier League starts during his sole campaign at the club, with a serious knee injury ending his season early.
