Man United 'extend' Mason Greenwood's contract

Manchester United have reportedly triggered the 12-month extension clause in the contract of Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood's United contract runs until 2025, meaning he could enter the final 12 months of his deal this summer and be available for a cut-price fee.

However, the Red Devils do have the option to protect his value by triggering their extension clause, and The Athletic have revealed that Getafe feel that has already happened.

Getafe officials have not hidden away from their desire to keep Greenwood beyond this season, either on another loan or permanently, and are said to have left talks with United with the feeling that the player's contract now expires in 2026.

United are reported to have denied deciding on Greenwood's contract at this point. They have until May 2025 to trigger their option and are not obligated to publicly confirm their decision.
