At his pre-match press conference, Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O'Neill was questioned for the first time about being linked with a job on Manchester United's coaching set-up.
Quoted by the BBC, he replied: "There’s no truth to it and I don’t know where it came from.
"Growing up, Liverpool and Man United felt like special clubs so it’s an honour to be linked, but all of my focus is here. I love it here [at Wolves]."
Reporters then asked if he's had any contact from Man United, to which he replied: "No, nothing at all.
"I was only made aware of it by our media team."
Although O'Neill has impressed managing Wolves to get them fighting for a European spot, the Red Devils are reportedly not considering him for a head coach role.
The pressure is high on Erik ten Hag, who is running out of time to convince Sir Jim Ratcliffe that he deserves to manage Man United.
