Murtough and Barca director Deco meet in Spain - 'two players were discussed'

Barcelona sporting director Deco and his Man United counterpart John Murtough on Monday met in Spain ahead of a potential relationship between the sides.

Along with the officials from the two clubs, football agents Frank Trimboli and Fede Massai, of the CAA Base agency, were also in attendance.

Although the reason for the meeting was not made known, it may be connected to both club's summer transfer business. United loanee Mason Greenwood is a serious summer target for Barcelona.

Greenwood, currently on loan at Getafe, is making a decent impression in La Liga. The 22-year-old is unlikely to return to Old Trafford next season and his contract expires in 2025, Barca is a viable option.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have held a long-standing interest in Barca midfielder and fourth captain Frenkie de Jong.
