Revealed: Man United's new transfer philosophy under Sir Jim Ratcliffe control

Man United are likely to be quite proactive in the first summer transfer window after Sir Jim Ratcliffe assumed sporting control after acquiring 25% of the club’s stakes from the Glazers.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the general feeling is that Man United will try to sign major young talents to the club under the new structure.

The club wants to keep an eye on the best youngsters in world football because Ineos feels t hat they have lost out on many possibilities on economic deals for quality young talents in the past.

One major example hinted is how Man United had the chance to signing Moises Caicedo a few years for around €5m before Brighton brought him to the Premier League in 2021.

With Ineos also owning Ligue 1 club OGC Nice, Sir Jim’s confidantes could also opt to sign quality young players and then send them on loan with the French club to gain experience and develop their skills – before they are ‘promoted’ to Man United.

However, before deciding which players can be signed, the Red Devils’ hierarchy is focused on appointing a new sporting director and aiming to convince Newcastle United to release Dan Ashworth.
