De Zerbi joins the race: 6 managers to potentially replace Ten Hag at Man United in latest round-up

It took just one defeat to Fulham in the aftermath of Rasmus Hojlund's injury for the rumour mills to suggest Erik ten Hag will be sacked.

In the space of a few days, Manchester United have been linked with at least five names for the managerial hot seat.

Ten Hag was supposed to discuss his future with INEOS at the end of the season. However, reports now claim Sir Jim Ratcliffe is already looking at replacements.

Here is the latest round-up of potential replacements.

Tuchel is certain to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season. He's reportedly eager to return to the Premier League and wishes to manage Man United.

The German coach is no stranger to success, having lifted the Champions League in his very first season with Chelsea. He also won the Bundesliga with Bayern last year but his record of 29 wins in 45 games is not deemed good enough.

Hotshot German coach Nagelsmann is probably the most exciting name on the list, particularly for his rise at RB Leipzig. He then managed Bayern, winning the DFL-Supercup followed by the DFP-Pokal.

He was eventually sacked by Bayern in favour of Tuchel. Nagelsmann, 36, currently manages the German national team and he's expected to remain in charge till the Euro 2024 finishes.

The manager is reportedly 'relishing' the prospect of joining Man United, with Ratcliffe an admirer as well.

One of the more recent names to be added, Inter manager Inzaghi is a tactically astute choice.

Inzaghi is in line to lift his first Serie A title with Inter this season, having already lifted two Coppa Italia cups and three consecutive Supercoppa Italiana titles.

Man United could capitalise on the fact that Inzaghi's contract expires in 2025, meaning this is the perfect time to begin talks.

Brighton boss De Zerbi is the latest to be linked with the job, with the MEN reporting INEOS have already included him among the potential replacements.

Interestingly, De Zerbi is also on Manchester City's radar to potentially replace Pep Guardiola - which speaks volumes.

With a Brighton side probably a mere fraction of Man United's value, De Zerbi is just five points behind the Red Devils in the league standings.

The Arsenal boss' name has been thrown into the ring by none other than Rio Ferdinand, who rates the Spaniard very highly.

He claimed Arteta would '100%' leave Arsenal if Man United come calling.

Arteta is still unproven as he failed to win his first Premier League title as Arsenal's boss last season.

He's in another title chase this term but given his past links with Manchester City, perhaps it's the most controversial option.

Last but not least, we have Potter, who is unemployed since being sacked by Chelsea.

Despite that setback, INEOS reportedly have a particular liking for him.

A report by The Sun has also stated that Potter has already been part of tentative discussions with Ratcliffe's team about replacing Ten Hag.
