Academy chief recalls signing Garnacho

Man United academy chief Nick Cox has lifted the lid on how he convinced Alejandro Garnacho to join the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid's youth setup during a video call in October 2020.

He said: "I had to do that from my spare bedroom via video call, using a translator. My boys at the time would have been 14 and 10 and I remember vividly that they were arguing with each other while I was trying to sign Alejandro. I still tell my boys now, had that argument rumbled on much longer then we probably wouldn't have Garnacho at Man United."

United's leadership has expressed their intention to avoid being drawn into a bidding war for Brentford striker Ivan Toney during the upcoming summer transfer window, reports the Daily Star

Erik ten Hag is actively seeking a high-calibre forward for next season and has been monitoring Toney, who has expressed his desire to leave Brentford and join a top-tier club.
