'Spent zero time on it': Ange Postecoglou unbothered by Man United's AFCON advantage

Manchester United will retain Andre Onana for the FA Cup clash against Wigan Athletic and may also get permission to keep him against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

To pull off Onana's delayed participation at this stage whereas other clubs are losing key players to AFCON and are unable to do anything about it.

Spurs will lose Heung-min Son to the Asia Cup as well but Ange Postecoglou insists he's not losing sleep over Man United's advantage.

At his press conference, the Australian told reporters: "I don’t think it’s fair or unfair.

"Each club can deal with it the way we want. There’s other reasons for these kind of things, but no, certainly, what other clubs do doesn’t affect me or the way I view it.

"Ultimately we’re bound by Fifa rules with these things. We want our players to represent their countries."

Postecoglou continued: "They are big tournaments they are going to and hopefully they are all successful.

"More importantly hopefully they all come back healthy. I’ve spent zero time [worrying about the Onana situation], not bothered at all what other clubs do."

Man United retaining the No.1 goalkeeper has raised eyebrows as other clubs are not being afforded the luxury.

He is expected to ultimately leave for the AFCON and the club will be forced to rely on Altay Bayindir then.
