Man United eyeing potential move for Jean-Clair Todibo, Sir Jim's potential major role in move explained (reliability: 3 stars)

Man United are planning to bolster their defence in the upcoming January transfer window after leaking too many goals in this campaign.

The Red Devils are eyeing a possible move to sign OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo in the winter window, claims the Sun.

Erik ten Hag wants to add a new right-sided centre-back to his squad soon and has lined up a future deal for Todibo.

The Red Devils would have to make an offer over a permanent deal to sign the 23-year-old after seeing their approach to get him in the summer rebuffed.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe could play an important role in smoothing things through over this deal because of his ownership stake at Nice.

He could perhaps make it easier for Man United to sign him after acquiring 25% of the ownership stake with the Red Devils.

With that being said, Newcastle United are also interested in signing the Frenchman and could compete with their Premier League rivals.

Todibo has been one of Ligue 1’s best defenders this season, helping Nice keep nine clean sheets in 11 games.
