West Ham to 'launch bid' for Maguire even though he's happy at Man United

As per The Telegraph, West Ham United are preparing to 'launch' a formal bid to sign Harry Maguire on loan.

The Hammers are eager to add cover to their defence and prefer signing the Manchester United centre-back temporarily.

However, the Red Devils want to offload him permanently but his £190,000-a-week wages could be a stumbling block.

Although he's fallen behind even Luke Shaw in the race for centre-back spots, Maguire is optimistic about winning his spot back. In fact, he's reportedly happy at the club and doesn't wish to leave.

After winning the Europa Conference League, moving to West Ham would mean Maguire can play in the Europa League. It remains to be seen if that's enough for him to contemplate a transfer.
