Matteo Darmian told reporters, via the Daily Mail: "Being a former Man United player is probably extra motivation. It will be good to play against them. It will be like a derby for me.
"We need to be ready and play our own game to beat them. It will not be easy. They are the best team in the world but we have our qualities and we have to show them. We have the ability to beat them."
Darmian left United for Parma in 2019 before the 33-year-old switched to Inter a year later, firstly on loan before making the deal permanent.
This season, the defender has shown his versatility playing in several different positions across 47 appearances for the San Siro club.
He is expected to feature on Saturday when Inter Milan face Man City in the Champions League final.
