"He's a player from Burnley football club who has played in the top four of the Premier League for Manchester United and also for Holland," Vincent Kompany told The Mirror about Wout Weghorst.
"The most important thing for me – and it's a tough one for me to say obviously because of the Cup Final – is for him personally to finish the season on a high.
"But still, I want him to do well and we will have the conversation," he added.
Weghorst has been on-loan at the Red Devils since January after he was brought in as an emergency addition by Erik ten Hag to help ease the club's striker crisis.
He is expected to return to Burnley at the conclusion of the season, with United preparing to go all-out in the upcoming transfer window to bring in a world class striker.
Weghorst has made just 20 Burnley appearances since moving to the Lancashire-based outfit on transfer deadline day last year, scoring two goals as the club were relegated from the Premier League. He is yet to score in the league for United.
