Luke Shaw found at fault for United's last conceded goals - fans identify his problem

Luke Shaw has put in a few really mixed-bag performances in recent games for Man United.

A user on Reddit, Mr_Procastinator103, pinpointed two instances in the Red Devils’ draws against Burnley and Southampton where the left-back was at fault.

Shaw was totally out of position for Jay Rodriguez’s equalizer in the Burnley draw, failing to maintain the offside trap with Raphael Varane.

Even in the Southampton game, the left-back ended up playing Che Adams onside and was spotted sticking way too close to Harry Maguire.

United fans are understandably frustrated by Shaw’s inconsistency and pointed out his problems on Reddit.

Evilmilhouse: “He loves getting so close to Maguire. I keep thinking just take two steps back!”

Liamthelad: “If the ball is on the other side on the pitch, there isn't much issue with the winger on the other side being in space, and the full-back should probably be close to his CB. That's because if the team switch the play, there is plenty of time to get across and cover the goalside position or even compete for a header. What Shaw is doing against Burnley is far worse as not only is he completely out of the game, but there's a huge gap in the middle of the pitch which is quite literally the highest risk area.”

Deltad_: “It's worrying when our ‘more defensive’ fullbacks cause us to concede more goals than Dalot & Telles, due to their awful positional awareness.”

Syaz137: “It feels like every time when this happens, it's ALWAYS either Shaw, AWB, or Maguire keeping somebody onside.”
