'Decisions went against us': Maguire fumes at refereeing in Burnley draw

Man United had two goals disallowed against Burnley and Harry Maguire is frustrated with the referee's decisions.

Raphael Varane scored a brilliant header early in the game but Mike Dean ruled it out following a VAR check.

"I think he’s given it offside [against me]," Maguire explained, as quoted by the club's official website.

"It wasn’t a foul, he said, but he’s given it offside, interfering with the play. I don’t really know.

"I actually made my run early because I mis-timed my run and I just tried to get back onside.

"It did end up being a little bit of a block but, I think it was Rodriguez who I blocked, I don’t think he would’ve been heading the ball and affecting the goal which Rapha scored."

Josh Brownhill scored an own goal in the 18th minute but it was disallowed because the linesman spotted a Paul Pogba foul in the build-up.

"I think that’s definitely not a foul," Maguire said.

"The lads in there are really disappointed, we’ve done enough to win the match," he added, as quoted by MEN.

"When you create that amount of chances you’ve got to be clinical and score the second goal, we know how important the second goal is.

"It’s similar to Friday when we created numerous chances. Decisions went against us, especially the second goal which is never a foul."
