'Bad decisions': Ole pinpoints what went wrong for Man United against Aston Villa

"I thought we were very good on the transition, defensively good and attacked quickly," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the official Manchester United website after the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa.

"Then when we got up there the final execution and quality in the pass or shot wasn’t good enough to get goals, unfortunately.

"The game ebbed and flowed, a good game for a neutral. Unfortunately, we get a goal against us on a corner that you see inconsistencies and VAR decision making."

The boss continued: "[Ollie] Watkins is touching David [De Gea] as the header has gone in, the linesman did well and reported it, called it into VAR but they turned the decision down and it was a goal. Bad decisions again, unfortunately.

"We had some big moments as well, Mason [Greenwood] had a few, missed a pen but we didn’t create enough to score goals and that wasn’t good enough today.

"As I said great on transition we played forward, ran forward, got shots off but maybe we could have spent more time up there and carved bigger chances."

Greenwood, Cristiano Ronaldo and even Bruno Fernandes attempted multiple shots on target but failed to find the back of the net.

The Red Devils must do better at finishing off chances and not rely on scoring second-half goals to win games.
