Nemanja Matic was at the centre of one pretty mad episode during Man United's defeat against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.
In the second half, the Serbian midfielder did well to block Vladimir Coufal's pass...
... after which he inexplicably kneed the opponent in the groin!
Coufal was visibly in pain but even that failed to attract the officials' attention:
Of course, Matic was lucky that the Carabao Cup fixture did not have VAR - and that the referee and his assistants failed to see what the TV cameras spotted easily.
It's not quite clear what Nemanja's thinking was, although it's easy to imagine that he was frustrated at how the game developed by that point.
We can't say that this incident had a big impact on the match itself, either. Both Matic and Coufal completed 90 minutes on Wednesday night, and the result remained unchanged until the final whistle.
