Officials confirm United should have been given penalty v West Ham

They note the best course of action for Martin Atkinson would have been to take a VAR review and award a spot kick.

The decision did not influence the result as United emerged 2-1 winners but the game would have been much easier had Atkinson pointed to the spot.
