Ex-Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano told El Transistor: "Two titans leave Real Madrid with a strategic position in the field. [Sergio] Ramos and [Raphael] Varane mean something similar to Chiellini and Bonucci in Italy."
Varane is expected to move to Old Trafford in the next couple of weeks, with Man United readying the first bid.
