'Could be good option' vs 'we don't need him': United fans react as Danny Ings rejects Southampton contract

Danny Ings has refused to extend his stay with Southampton, top source David Ornstein has confirmed.

Remember, Manchester United were once bizarrely linked with signing the former Liverpool man? Well, those links have re-surfaced with several outlets claiming the Red Devils 'admire' Ings.

Ings, 28, scored 12 goals and assisted four times in 29 Premier League games last season - and here's what fans think about a potential move:

Those AGAINST signing Ings

MuriuNJ: "We don't need him, Cavani, Greenwood, Martial, Rashford. That's not a department we need to spend on this summer tbh."

MDvGamerHD: "I often think when people link him to us, they forget he played for Liverpool. It’s just not going to happen."

dnamezhari: "He is not needed, next season when Cavani leaves, let’s buy a proper striker like Haaland!"

DesertViber: "Since when did Manchester United become a dumping ground?"

Connor_Waughman: "We don't need him but wtf is 'admire'? We trying to take him out for dinner or something lol."

Those FOR signing Ings

AdSykes94: "Wouldn’t mind Ings at United. Could be a good option for us when Cavani and Greenwood need a rest."

dia_oni: "I'd think we still need a young striker, if Cavani is injured, we are going to struggle. Sell Martial and bring in another center forward. Danny Ings wouldn't mind sitting on a United bench."

SK_United17: "I’d take Ings as an extra back up if he was available for around £20m."

AbdullaAlBraik: "Would’ve 100% taken Danny Ings at United as a squad player, but not sure we need him anymore with Edi, Mason, and Martial."

TDunne_MUFC: "If Cavani didn’t sign with United, without question we would have gone after Danny Ings. Still could happen but less likely now."
