Speaking to the media on Tuesday, England head coach Gareth Southgate said: "We've noted how when you become the captain of Manchester United the impact that must have on your confidence.
"The improvement in Harry Maguire's leadership and his desire to step forward and have an influence on the wider group shines through. The dressing room doesn’t need as much voice from the coaches before a game
"You can hear all of those players getting around each other and there are several others who add in to that. That's a healthy environment. It's a good sign for the team now and moving forward."
Maguire made his return from injury in England's 1-0 win against Czech Republic on Tuesday, playing for 90 minutes and helping the Three Lions finish top of Group D with 7 points.
The Old Trafford skipper is likely to retain his starting XI place in the Euro 2020 knockout stages despite solid displays from Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings and Manchester City's John Stones.
