Van de Beek to leave United & 5 more transfer rumours you should believe the least

Navigating the many transfer rumours that crop up during silly season is tough - and we totally get that.

That's why Tribuna.com is here with a round-up of stories you need not pay much attention to.

OUTS

Van de Beek

Donny van de Beek has hardly played for Manchester United since joining last summer but it's not uncommon to have a low-key first season in the Premier League.

As confirmed by his agent, the Dutchman is happy with the Red Devils and is intent on earning a spot. There have been reports of him possibly holding talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about his role - which is fair.

However, after just one bumpy debut season, it's highly unlikely that Van de Beek will call it quits. Whether anybody likes it or not, his contract runs till 2025 - he deserves at least a couple more seasons to prove his worth.

De Gea

David De Gea had a night to forget in our Europa League defeat to Villarreal as he conceded 11 penalties and failed to score from the spot.

That has added fuel to the already-intense rumours about an exit but there's a strong chance he won't leave United this summer.

For starters, there haven't been credible reports of interest from other clubs - and De Gea is unlikely to join a small club just to quit United.

He's the highest earner at United and it's hard to see another club willing to spend £375,000 on weekly wages - especially since his reputation isn't the best right now.

Pogba

Much like the Jadon Sancho transfer saga, this one makes an appearance in every window.

Paul Pogba, however, seems more likely to sign a new deal with United instead of joining, say, Real Madrid - who are going through an internal turmoil themselves.

With Zinedine Zidane out of the picture, Pogba's best bet to stay with the Red Devils - again, there's no club willing to pay anything close to what we signed him for. His £275,000 wages per week doesn't make things any easier.

Knowing Mino Raiola, he'd only let Pogba leave for free over his dead body. And on a more positive note, the Frenchman genuinely seems to be enjoying football under Solskjaer again.

INS

Ings

The wildest rumour of 2021 has got to be Danny Ings' possible move to Old Trafford.

Don't believe what they tell you though - there's no way a former Liverpool man will join United after what Michael Owen went through. Players who've switched these two sides are not remembered fondly by the fans.

Ings is actually enjoying a new chapter with Southampton - makes little sense to jeopardise that to be a bench-warmer at best at United.

Saul Niguez

We've been linked to Saul Niguez since forever and it's likely the move will never happen.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder is reportedly interested in leaving and - of course - is keen on joining United. However, there have been similar stories about him wanting to join Bayern Munich and a few other clubs too.

If the deal had to happen, it would've happened by now. That's all we'll say about this one.

Haaland

And now, let's turn our attention to Erling Haaland, the man of the moment.

Even before the summer, the Borussia Dortmund hitman was a hot topic solely because of his exploits in front of the goal last season. With 27 goals in 28 Bundesliga games, it's no surprise that he's been linked with United.

However, considering Raiola's mad demands - and the fact that we have the Glazers as owners - we can forget about ever signing the striker simply because we can't afford it.

Even if we did, we'd have to make sacrifices in other positions and that's not worth it.
