Former Liverpool player and coach Graeme Souness claims club captain Virgil Van Dijk could leave Liverpool as he's unhappy at Anfield.
“The fact that Virgil van Dijk’s contract end is coming up worries me, he’s 33 in July, and if his agent were to call up the sporting director at Real Madrid, they’d take him," Souness said.
"I just look at him now and the noise he’s been making, which he hasn’t done throughout his career, and I think he’s obviously unhappy,” the Liverpool icon added.
It's hard to agree with Souness in this case as Van Dijk seems focused on his Liverpool career. However, contract talks with the big defender have stalled as the club wants their players focused until the end of the season.
Souness also exagerrates Van Dijk's next destination. It's unlikely that Real Madrid would put in an offer for VVD, partially as he's already approaching his mid-30s.
