'I'm not angry or whatever...': Klopp on Liverpool losing Premier League race

 told a press conference when asked about an increasing gap between 

"We need to win our games. We didn't win the game. That doesn't improve our situation now massively. 

"Do they [Manchester City and Arsenal] look like they will lose two or three games? No, I don't think so but, honestly, I'm not angry or whatever... I don't think about it. 

"It's just we have to win football games and let's see what that means in the end. What do we have now? 75 points? 84 [are] possible and I think it is a good target to try to do that. 

"That is what will be my attitude, my mindset and we will see what that means. It's a while ago somebody became champion with 84 points I think, long ago. I am sorry, but I don't have better news for you."

Liverpool are now two points behind Arsenal and a point behind Man city, nut both these sides have games in hand over the Reds.

With so few games left to play, there's no realistic pathway towards a miracle end of the Jurgen Klopp era.

agree 💯. b4 start of season most would accept top 4 and silverware. Still a good team, need some tweaking so nobody thinks that they are always guaranteed their place. with so many injuries ( medical department?????)and academy players having to step up a very good season. like confidence in players but not arrogance, think some may border on arrogance, let your talking on the field guys.

Well said Kevin…if someone had offered us CL finish at the beginning we would have taken it after last season so to come 3rd and actually have been in and lead the title race and win a domestic cup is amazing….what other team has completely rebuilt the midfield, and had situations where 8 players in a game were academy and achieved so much. I do think that Klopp’s departure was announced too early and that the situation with Salah should never be allowed to become so public. But for eight years we’ve been blessed with one of the best managers ever.

Do you think what we have been in is not the same as our rivals?  I believe City and Arsenal were in a much more intense season.  But the difference is for sure the quality of the players and their bench.  I am sorry this should not be the justification.

I am inclined to believe that what we are gaining is what we deserve and we should accept it because this is the practical way of thinking.  The only thing that should happen is analyzing our nagging problems that we faced during the last two seasons and try to solve it.

Last season we have ended 5th and concluded the season with zero titles, this season, we might end third or fourth, this means that we didn’t really fixed our last season nagging problems.  

I hope Slot will be having this opportunity and I want to see Liverpool of 2018-2019.

I do agree with these points of view, however, it just sounds like a way to justify the disappointment. The players aren’t trying. At least that how it seems. Where’s the captain rallying the troops to come back. It’s not there. Team just seems empty inside. Point is, even unexpectedly, the team was in the title race and they played a bad game, gave the middle finger to the coach on his last months as manager

100% agree, our defensive issues are glaring still, how we continually concede such soft goals to out of form teams, our attacking woes have not been solved either, so many chances missed (I saw a stat that showed we are by far the team with most missed clear chances in the league), our defence/midfield over-possessing the ball, & our injury problems year after year. Would have been great if we fixed all 4, that's very unlikely, would have been great if we fixed 1 or 2, but I don't think we fixed any unfortunately, thats the cold hard truth. So then looking at it now in hindsight, to get anywhere near the top was almost a miracle. There's a lot of work for Slot & co ahead.

Just 3 weeks ago most of us were feeling to win the Europa league and the FA cup and the league together with the EFL cup especially after we saw our young players wining the cup from Chelsea ,,, that is the truth,,, it was a shock what happened last 3 weeks

None of this can explain why we spend majority of games passing the ball back & forth, sideways, backwards, up & back again between our defenders & midfield. It is extremely painful to watch. What is the purpose of this, it just looks like we are playing out time..& the thing is, the way we defend, we are generally behind in games to these garbage teams, so why are we wasting time by playing 300-400 passes a game between our defenders & midfield, why aren't we attacking the opposition

when Liverpool were top of the league and won the champion's leagues did you say anything I don't think so  the way we are playing is not good but the build up in patience I don't think you understand that

what do you mean? are you saying this is a good tactic.. if so, fair enough, maybe it is good for teams who are trailing to pass the ball around backwards, I haven't seen that tactic used a lot by teams trailing, maybe it's a new tactic, time will tell if it works

Klopp has gotten the biggest budget for sending than any other past Liverpool managers and the privilege to choose what players he wants.

We are not the only one playing 3-4 games in 10 days and other team still doing very ok
Klopp really do fumbled at times and it cost us loosing all the cups will suppose won

like who what other team had to play 3 games a week west ham get a grip as for spending have LFC spent more then man city man utd arsenal or Newcastle no they haven't do the maths

The day we lost to Palace at home was the day the title race slipped away. The players are not hungry for success anymore.
