Salah & Quansah 4: Liverpool player ratings in Man United draw

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Man United at Old Trafford. The Reds were clearly the better side for a large part of the game but couldn't make their chances count while the opposition got the most of the few opportunities they created.

Mac Allister: 8. The Argentine continued his fine form as he quietly bossed the midfield for the Reds with his accurate passes and smart movement. Orchestrated most of Liverpool's attacks today.

Van Dijk: 8. A Rolls Royce defensive display by the captain, didn't put a foot wrong.

Robertson: 6.5. Should have had an assist for Szoboszlai early on. Took a corner which led to Diaz's opener. Struggled against Garnacho on a few occasions though.

Elliott: 6.5. Came on and made a difference by winning the penalty from which Salah equalised.

Diaz: 6. Opened the deadlock with a fantastic, instinctive finish but was quite anonymous after that.

Bradley: 6. Vacated his position too often, leaving acres of space behind him which United exploited. Dangerous going forward but didn't provide the killer passes we know he's capable of.

Jones: 5.5. Second game after the injury. It's nice to see CuJo back yet he could've gotten tighter against Mainoo before the Man United youngster scored.

Gakpo: 5. It's not that he was particularly poor, it's that he didn't provide the spark the Reds needed. His touch was quite heavy when Liverpool needed quick action.

Darwin: 4. Added his chaotic energy to this extremely chaotic game. Notched up a beautiful assist for Diaz but also should have done much, much better in front of goal. His miss shortly after the United equaliser is impossible to explain.

Quansah: 4. His lapse in concentration led to Fernandes' equaliser. If you take that away, it was an excellent game by the youngster — solid offensively, great passing to help move the ball forward. But unfortunately, you can't take that mistake away.

Szoboszlai: 4. Missed an excellent chance to break the deadlock in the third minute of the game — and then an even better one in the 18th minute. Had his good moments though, like a run to set up that chance which led to Darwin missing a tap-in in the 54th minute.

Salah: 4. Excellent creativity-wise and calmly dispatched the penalty to equalise in the second half. The game could have been very different had he scored at least one of his two big chances in the first half though. His misses have proven to be costly today — and as Liverpool's main scoring outlet, Salah has to a part of the blame for the Reds not getting the deserved three points today.

Others: Kelleher, Gomez 6.5; Endo 6.
