'I don’t think I’ve ever told a player that before': Klopp reveals what he told Salah during Sparta win

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that during Liverpool's win over Sparta Prague, he told Mo Salah something he'd never told any of his players before.

With Bobby Clark injured, the Liverpool talisman had to stay on and so Klopp asked Salah to recover efficiently during the game, once the Reds had a healthy lead.

“The plan was to take him off, then Bobby (Clark) sat in front of me and had to come off," explained Klopp.

“He is experienced enough that he could recover during the game. I told him not to run; I don’t think I’ve ever told a player to do that before!”

In his post-match interview on TNT Sports, he also said: “I think it’s the first time I told any player: ‘Just stop defending’.”

“He is very experienced so he got easy over the line.”
