Joe Gomez gets first England call-up in four years

Joe Gomez has been included in England's squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.

The Liverpool defender makes a long-awaited return to the national team, having last featured for the Three Lions in October 2020.

The 26-year-old has been in red-hot form for the Reds this season, impressing in centre-back, right-back, left-back and holding midfielder roles.

No other Liverpool players have made the squad as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones are injured. Former Reds captain Jordan Henderson has made the squad.
