Klopp: 'This is Gomez's most consistent season'

"I couldn't be happier for Joey," said Jurgen Klopp about Joe Gomez. "He's super important in 19/20 and seasons like this.

"Injuries happened, he's in and out the team. Still important to us but this season is his most consistent. He's done exceptionally well and it's developed his game massively.

"He has really grown with the challenges he faced. Exceptional shape, long may it continue.

Why Edwards turned down Man United, Chelsea

“Edwards initially rejected Liverpool’s advances, but another round of talks sealed the deal,” Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside.

“He was also on the shortlist of multiple other clubs in the recent years, including Manchester United and Chelsea, but also clubs from abroad.

“He was never attracted by any possibility until Liverpool returned, it made the difference.”

Gomez to get England recall

The Telegraph report that Joe Gomez will receive a call-up to the England national team on Thursday, for the first time in four years.

Romano weighs in on Luis Diaz exit links

“I want to reassure fans that I’m not hearing anything about Luis Diaz and Barcelona, despite some stories about his agent meeting with Barca,” Fabrizio Romano wrote for Daily Briefing.

“Diaz’s full focus is on Liverpool and also I don’t think it’s possible for Barcelona to go and pay the kind of crazy fee that would be required for Diaz.”
