FSG confirm Michael Edwards appointment, commit to buying another club

FSG have confirmed that Michael Edwards has been appointed the group's CEO of football.

Note that the Englishman's role will be with FSG, not with Liverpool. He will oversee football operations at Anfield but will also work with another club, which FSG intends to buy, as confirmed in the statement.

Edwards said: "[O]ne of the biggest factors in my decision is the commitment to acquire and oversee an additional club". It means that FSG will now try to build a multi-club model.

Edwards worked at Liverpool in various roles for 11 years until 2022, including a highly successful six-year spell as a sporting director.
