Liverpool's criteria for new head coach revealed — not only good CV

Liverpool are searching for a successor for Jurgen Klopp, who is set to depart at the end of the season.

Sky Sports' Melissa Reddy reports that the Reds' criteria extend beyond being a world-class coach with a history of success at other clubs.

There are stats used to determine the candidates' ability to improve their teams but the Reds are looking behind numbers.

The new head coach will need to be able to form an emotional bond with the fans, the city of Liverpool and the club. The Reds are looking for someone the players, the staff and the fans 'want to invest in'.

"There are a lot of good managers out there. There are not a lot of good Liverpool managers," one former member of club staff said. These words sum up the Reds' approach to recruiting a new manager.
