Jurgen Klopp stunned the entire Liverpool fraternity by announcing that he will be leaving his role as the first-team manager at the end of the season.
There has been a lot of speculation over why he has decided to quit the job before his contract expired in 2026, with the gaffer hinting that he has run out of energy.
West Ham United forward Michail Antonio recently weighed in on Klopp’s impending exit and why he might have made this decision, telling the Players Channel podcast: “To be fair, I heard on the grapevine last season he was thinking about leaving.
“But after what they did last year and what they are doing this year, I was very surprised to be fair that he has announced he is going. What I heard, and it might not be true, is that his family just want to go back home to be fair. That’s what the rumours were.”
There still hasn’t been any official confirmation on the reason behind Klopp’s departure from the man himself, but regardless of it, the decision must be respected by everyone.
The gaffer will hope to end his Liverpool reign on a high note, with the Reds competing on all fronts for the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and UEFA Europa League titles.
