'Completely normal': Jurgen Klopp points out one issue for Ryan Gravenberch

Jurgen Klopp admits that Ryan Gravenberch lacks consistency in his first season at Liverpool, but it's something to be expected at his age.

"Ryan is still the talent, 21, we forget that always and he didn’t play much last year," the boss told TNT Sports after the Chelsea win.

"He had outstanding performances where he was man of the match for us internally and other matches where you think 'where was he actually today?'

"That is completely normal in development.

"The boys like each other, similar age group besides Wataru, obviously, and they have a good relationship and that helps as well."

Unlike Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Gravenberch has not managed to establish himself as a regular starter after joining Liverpool this summer. Even Wataru Endo has started more Premier League games, although his position is different.

Still, Gravenberch has already played more league minutes than he did last season with Bayern Munich — and he has shown flashes of excellency. Hopefully, the next head coach will be just as patient with him as Klopp has been.
