For example, Liverpool initially spotted Kostas Tsimikas while watching the then-Reds midfielder Pedro Chirivella on loan in Eredivisie in the 2017/18 season. They got in touch with the Greek's agent and when the club came calling in 2020, the left-back didn't think twice about moving to Anfield.
Another example is Stefan Bajcetic. The youngster was very close to joining Man United but Liverpool worked on creating a positive relationship with the player's family and it played a key role in the Spaniard picking Anfield over Old Trafford.
The Reds' ties with the agents of Luis Diaz led to them telling the club that he was close to signing for Spurs. Liverpool hijacked the deal and the Colombian became a Red.
The appointment of Jorg Schmadtke as a sporting director has helped the club use his connections, leading to the signing of Wataru Endo.
