Can Liverpool buy Dominic Solanke back now that he fires double digits for Bournemouth?

Dominic Solanke may only be remembered at Anfield as a flop after scoring just one goal in 27 games for Liverpool before he was offloaded to Bournemouth in January 2019.

At least, the Reds got a nice profit as they reportedly received ₤19m for a striker who had not established himself as a Premier League goalscorer at the age of 21.

It took him some time, but Solanke is getting there. This season, he has already scored 12 goals in the top flight.

And, according to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds still have a couple of clauses in that deal — including a buyback clause. It is not clear how much it would cost Liverpool to bring Solanke back, though.

In any case, the question shouldn't be whether Liverpool can bring him back but whether they should. They are pretty well-stocked up front, with Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo fighting for the central role, and Diogo Jota can throw his hat into the ring.

Moreover, these players are versatile, which can't be said about Solanke who is a No.9 as clear as they come.
