'I heard he has gone to hospital': Bukayo Saka apologises to Kostas Tsimikas after serious injury

Bukayo Saka expressed his regret for the challenge that led to Kostas Tsimikas' injury in the Liverpool vs Arsenal 1-1 draw.

What really stung the Reds wasn’t the draw – it was seeing Tsimikas leaving the field in pain. Tsimikas engaged in a tussle with Saka, one that sent the Greek flying down the touchline into Jurgen Klopp, who then fell on top of him.

Although both teams battled fiercely, the incident took centre stage as Tsimikas had to be taken to the hospital for evaluation. Saka, in a post-match interview, immediately issued his apologies to the injured player.

According to Liverpool ECHO, he said: "I heard he has gone to hospital so obviously I want to apologise to him, I didn’t mean it of course. For me, it was a 50/50 and I have gone shoulder to shoulder with him."

"I didn’t see it but he must have taken a bad fall, I didn’t see him go into Klopp either. I was focused on running forward because I didn’t think it was a foul. That’s my take on it."
